• Assessment for Adult Students

Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)

All students who enroll in an Adult Basic Education (ABE) Course or General Educational Development (GED) Course will need to take the TABE Test. TABE is used to evaluate reading, mathematics, and language skills. The results will help the teacher align instruction to assessment results for each student. The TABE pre-test will determine placement and the post-test will measure educational gains.

Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS)

All students who enroll in the English for Speakers of other languages (ESOL) Course will need to take the CASAS Reading and Listening Test. CASAS is used to evaluate reading and listening in a life skills and workplace context. The CASAS pre-test will determine placement and the post-test will measure educational gains.
