The goal of the Hendry County Program for the Visually Impaired is to promote the success of students with visual impairments in Hendry County by providing high-quality accessible instructional materials and data-based instruction to facilitate student achievement and post-secondary success.

Elaine Montane
Elaine Montane is a certified teacher for the visually impaired in Florida. She comes from South Windsor, Connecticut. She attended Wheelock College in Boston, The University of Virginia, and Southern Connecticut State College. Elaine has worked at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA. She taught in Culpeper, VA and Stamford, CT for thirty-two years before moving to Florida. She has taught in Hendry County for six years. She enjoys swimming, needlepoint, and cheering for the New York Yankees!
