Mental Health Specialists

Mission Statement

The mental health department is a team comprised of fully licensed clinical social workers and mental health counselors. The mental health team works closely with school psychologists, school counselors, teachers, and parents to identify and treat students, K-12th, with mental health needs. The goal of the mental health team is to provide students with skills to increase emotional wellness which will impact academic success.

The mental health team provides interventions that aim to address and ameliorate barriers students have to help them be successful, which might include: dealing with peer pressure, handling family stressors, reducing psychiatric symptoms, helping improve emotional self-regulation, and assisting students, parents, and teachers in identifying supports and accommodations based on identified mental health conditions.

The mental health team is passionate about working with children and together have over 80 years of experience. We look forward to working with our students as we help them to achieve mental wellness!

Cece Estrada, LCSW

Cece Estrada is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and one of the districts Mental Health Specialists. She earned her Master’s of Social Work from Barry University and has been in the mental health field since 2013. She loves working with children and is skilled in providing creative interventions to treat disorders like PTSD, depression and anxiety, just to name a few.
