LaBelle Middle School is proud to announce the completion of their first season participating in FIRST Lego League (FLL). FLL is a robotics program aimed at inspiring students to think critically to apply math and science concepts to solve problems. Two teams from LaBelle Middle School competed at Cypress Lake Middle School on December 10th and January 14th. Mrs. Ericka Burke, Math and Gifted Program teacher directed the "Labelle Freshies" and "The Techno Waffles" were sponsored by Mr. Greg Zimmerly and Mrs. Carol Grigsby, 8th and 6th Grade Science teachers. Neither team advanced to the next level of competition but both gained valuable experience for next year. During the tournament, the teams presented projects before a group of judges, ran their programmed robot on the challenge course, and displayed the FLL Core Values throughout the day as they competed with 22 other teams. Way to go Techno Waffles and LaBelle Freshies!
