Oct 21-27, 2018 is the Teen Safety Driving Week campaign. On 10/24/18 at 1450
hrs., CHS scholar/HCSO Explorer, CHS scholar/FPSA officer, D/S Nunemaker conducted a
check point at the exit gate of the CHS student parking lot. During this check point, the
focus was seatbelts and confirmation the driver was in possession of their driver's
license. During the check point, sixty six (66) vehicles passed through the check point.
Sixty four were totally in compliance. One failed to exhibit his FLDL and one failed to
have on his seatbelt. Those scholars who were in total compliance with the check
point objective, received a goodie bag containing small items donated from the
Hendry County Sheriff's Office, US Army, Clewiston High School and
Center State Bank (Clewiston). Overall, I was pleased the Clewiston High School
scholar driving & passengers were conducting themselves in a safe manner.
I also felt this was a great opportunity for CHS scholar/HCSO Explorer and
CHS scholart/FPSA officer to experience what a check point entails. Both scholars
did a great job assisting D/S Nunemaker.
