COVID Guidelines for STUDENTS
For the 2022/2023 School Year as of August 10, 2022
The Hendry County School District is issuing the following guidelines for the 2022/2023 School Year:
- If a student has symptoms of COVID-19 or flu:
Please keep the student home and remain home until such time that symptoms have improved and the student is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. The student may return to school once both of those things have happened.
- If the student is asymptomatic (with or without a positive COVID-19 test):
Free of symptoms of illness: the student can come to school. IF the student develops symptoms, the student should remain home until those symptoms have improved and the student is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
- Masks will remain OPTIONAL for all students and employees.
The Florida Department of Health and the CDC has updated their guidelines for the new school year, following the CDC or FDOH guidelines is at the parent’s prerogative. Student absences will be counted as excused or unexcused based the determinations in the Code of Student Conduct.
**The Hendry County School District believes that the best student learning happens when students are in school. If a student is not showing symptoms or has any illness, we expect them to be in attendance.”
Looking forward to a wonderful year!
